Ho'omälamalama

[Students in Grades K - 5]

Nä Pua No'eau offers educational opportunities for students in Grades K-5 in half-day programs held at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. The program is conducted for 3 weeks early in the summer for 75-90 students from all over the Big Island.

Students who attend the Center's Super Enrichment Saturday Programs throughout the year, are identified as potential participants by observers.

Although the classes are entitled by discipline i.e. visual arts, language arts, science and math, Hawaiian language culture, arts & crafts, concepts are taught in an interdisciplinary manner. A team of teachers teach the respective classes.

A culminating Ho'olaule'a , or celebration, is planned for all students and their parents at the end of the Ho'omälamalama.
