Registration forms are available at Nä Pua No'eau offices. All participants are required to register annually to update address, phone, emergency & medical data. New participants should contact the Nä Pua No'eau office nearest you for the 2008-2009 registration form or download and complete the form.

Nä Pua No'eau, the Center for Gifted and Talented Native Hawaiian Children, is presenting "Summer Institute 2008", a 2-week residential, educational, enrichment program held on the University of Hawai'i at Hilo campus and University of Hawai'i at Mänoa campus. A variety of classes are being offered to students of Hawaiian ancestry currently in grades 8 - 12. A native Hawaiian component will be integrated in all of the classes to provide students with Hawaiian role models, culture, values, history, protocol, and language. In addition to enrichment in academic areas, students will participate in field experiences, cultural activities, and personal development. A Hö'ike at the end of the two-week session will allow students to share their learning with families and the community.

‘Aha ‘Öpio Alaka‘i
Hawaiian Youth Leadership Program
(for current 10th grade students)
The Hawaiian Youth Leadership Program is funded and designed by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to provide Hawaiian youth with a broad understanding of issues in which Hawaiians are challenged with, and to be equipped with the necessary tools to resolve them. In addition to learning about the legislative process and policy development, the students will have an opportunity to learn and resolve issues through a broader venue of organizations. As they matriculate through the program the students will have an opportunity to learn about the different organizations and strategies in addressing the needs of Hawaiians and the Hawaiian community. The program components include participating in a Student Forum at the Native Hawaiian Education Association Convention, a two-week summer residential program, a series of planning sessions, and an internship.

Pathways Project Ahupua‘a
(for students that are currently in the 8th grade and interested in science)
The Pathways Project - "Ahupua‘a" is a two-week residential summer program for students currently in grade 8. Pathways students will then have a 3 year opportunity of mentorships and research projects continuing into their High School years.

Hideo Noguchi Scholorship for the Advancement of Native Hawaiians
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist degree-seeking students who have been enrolled in or are
currently participating in the Nä Pua Noÿeau Center for Gifted & Talented Native Hawaiian Children programs,
which guides Native Hawaiian children in aspiring for higher academic achievement. Funds shall be used to
assist students with all costs associated with attendance, including tuition, books, and fees.
